FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions:
- What type of contractor are you?
PM Contractors is an experienced Virginia CLASS A CONTRACTOR.
- Do you have insurance and carry workers Compensation?
Yes. Accidents can happen, but PM Contractors cares deeply about the safety of our workers and your family/business. Every precaution is taken during our projects to follow best practices while around tools, on ladders, and electricity - you have nothing to worry about (our safety record speaks for itself), but should something happen while on your property, you are and our workers are protected.
- Will you complete my project on time and within budget?
Our goal is to always meet our estimated time frames. However, flexibility is sometimes needed due to circumstances beyond our control. These could include, such things as weather, parts availability, or unexpected issues once into a project. These things happen, however, what separates PM Contractors from our competition is COMMUNICATION. We will always keep you ‘in the know’ and give you updates based on our progress.
- Do you do all the work yourself?
Like most general contractors, we may use subcontractors depending on the specifics of the job itself. The reason we don’t always use our own employees on certain jobs serves two purposes. First it actually helps us keep our overhead down, so we can pass along the savings to you. Not having to keep ’specialists’ on our payroll full time, allows us to be competitive in our quotes. Also it affords us the option of working with the best in the business. We choose/manage, and handle the work as if it were our own. You only need to deal with us, to ensure the same quality work is preformed for you. This is why most of our sub-contractors have stayed with us for so many years, and completed many of our best projects.
- Do your sub-contractors also carry insurance?
Yes. We require them to carry $2,000,000 general liability insurance, as well as workers compensation policies for their staff.
- Do you offer payment terms?
Most jobs require a small deposit at time of agreement, and all financial terms will be discussed and placed in writing before any job is started.
- How can I reach you during a job?
Communication is our strength, and you can always reach Lewis Little, the owner anytime by phone or email.
- Do you offer written estimates?
Yes. ALL our estimates are put in writing, detailing what work will be performed, at what price. This avoids any misunderstandings, as we want our customers to have a fair and enjoyable experience.
- What is your policy as a company?
We treat our customers like family. Why? Simply put, because we don’t spend much to advertise, we rely our on customers for referral work, and repeat business.
